Accidents at Work Solicitors

Have you been injured or hurt during a workplace accident that wasn't your fault? Keenan Solicitors have successfully handled a wide range of workplace accident claims and can help you get the compensation that you deserve.

By UK law your employer has a legal obligation to ensure your health and safety at work. This includes ensuring the appropriate level of training, the undertaking of regular risk assessments, suitable working environs and safe working systems as well as carefully managed business activities designed to mitigate the potential for harm.

If you find yourself victim to a workplace incident that has caused you serious harm or injury you may have the right to claim compensation. Additionally, it may be possible to claim if your working conditions have made a pre-existing condition worse.

Our expert solicitors can help you pursue a claim for Employer negligence that could help cover medical expenses and protracted periods where you have been unable to work.

How long do you have to make a claim?

By UK law you have up to 3 years from the date of the incident to pursue a claim. There are exceptions to this, as such we advise that you contact us as soon as possible to ensure the best possible outcome for your claim.

Exceptions to the UK statutory claim period are:

  • Mental Capacity - If the injury you or your loved one has sustained, as a result of a work place accident, is a brain injury and thus mental capacity is affected, there is no time limit on when you can make a claim.
  • Inadequate or Defective Equipment - If the injury you sustained was due to a defective item or piece of equipment the time frame may vary. Contact us as soon as possible for more information.
  • Accidents while working abroad - If your injury was acquired while you were working abroad the claim period may be shorter than the UK statutory of 3 years. We advise that you contact us as soon as possible to discuss next steps.
