Following a fall at home this lady was taken to hospital. She underwent a CT scan of her lungs, and it was discovered that she had mesothelioma
Following a tough battle with the illness, she sadly passed away just over a year later.

Cormac Keenan personally met with the family and took detailed instructions to ascertain where and when the exposure to asbestos might have taken place which led to this fatal mesothelioma diagnosis. No time was wasted, and the next steps were to apply for the Coroner’s post-mortem report, which confirmed that mesothelioma was the cause of death. We also obtained all relevant medical notes & records and the Plaintiff’s HMRC employment schedule, which acted as proof of employment.
All relevant papers were then sent to a Consultant Chest Physician, who prepared a detailed report documenting the struggles she would’ve faced and confirming that her employment was the likely cause of her exposure to asbestos.
We were able to use our experience in these highly complicated cases to secure a Nursing Care expert, who documented the extra care that the family provided as a result of the illness.
High Court proceedings were issued without delay and the case Set Down.
Ultimately following negotiations, settlement was agreed at £185,000 on behalf of the surviving family, without the need for the matter to go into Court.
